LONDON, March 10 (Reuters) - Soccer news in brief from around the world:
* Algeria have named Rangers's French-born midfielder Brahim Hemdan in their squad for the first time for this month's friendly against Democratic Republic of Congo in Paris, the Algerian Football Federation said.
Hemdan was joined in coach Rabah Saadane's squad by Bastia's French-born defender Fethi Harek.
The March 26 friendly is one of two warm-up matches before Algeria begin their 2010 World Cup qualifying campaign against Senegal in Dakar in two and a half months time.
* Ghana will alternate between the four venues used for the recent African Nations Cup finals for future home matches, starting with their 2010 World Cup qualifying campaign.
"The games for the national team will be spread across the country," president Kwesi Nyantakyi told the Ghana FA's Web site (www.ghanafa.org).
Ghana launch their World Cup campaign against Libya at the Baba Yara stadium in Kumasi in two and a half months time. Qualifying matches against Gabon and Lesotho will be played in Accra, Sekondi or Tamale.
